Wild Serendipity Foods is owned & operated by Michelle
Zimmer. An engineer by profession, Michelle decided
to pursue her passion for food and cooking by starting
to sell products at the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market in
March of 2006.
Based on the early success at the Market, a business
plan evolved, which originally included catering, cooking
classes for both adults & children, corporate lunch
delivery, children's birthday parties, and of course,
the Farmer's Market. Michelle built a commercial kitchen
in the Avalon Shopping Centre to facilitate the food
preparation and the cooking classes.
The two main business streams of Wild Serendipity Foods
now include the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market and adult
cooking classes. Her scones, baked fresh Saturday morning,
have become a sensation, often resulting in line-ups
before Market opening. The cooking classes have also
become ‘wildly’ popular, with classes often filling
up within days of the schedule being posted. All classes
are 'hands-on', with everyone in the class enjoying
the fruits of their labour at the end of the class.

In 2010, Michelle traveled to Paris, where she took
a class at Le Cordon Bleu on making Macarons, the infamously
temperamental French meringue cookie. Perserverance
paid off, and these delights are now one of her signature
products.
Wild Serendipity Foods believes strongly in the spirit
of community, thereby donating a significant portion
of profits to several local charitable organizations
and has participated in the Saskatchewan Environmental
Society "Sustainable Gourmet" dinner events.
