Winter 2009 Cooking Class Schedule:

  • All classes listed are held at #10-2605 Broadway Avenue (Avalon Shopping Centre, next to the Wool Emporium).
  • Class start time is 7pm; class length is approximately 2 to 2 ½ hours.
  • The registration fee per class is $30, per person.
  • Note: Please give a min. of 48 hrs notice if you find you must cancel your spot, to allow others on the waiting list to attend.
Holiday Appetizers: Wednesday, January 7th - Register Online

  • We will prepare three different soups, along with a hearty bread & side salad to enjoy with them – perfect for a cold winter evening!
Ancient Grains II: Monday, January 26th - Register Online
  • Continuing on with our exploration of these interesting, ancient grains – we’ll prepare four dishes, including chia and amaranth.
Sushi & Pizza: Monday, February 2nd - FULL / *Wait List*
  • Come learn how to prepare maki & Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pizza) – You will also be taking home 2 or more rolls
Chocolate Lover’s Menu: Wednesday, February 11th - FULL / *Wait List*
  • Love chocolate enough to make a meal of it? We’ll prepare a four-course menu based on chocolate, only one of which will be dessert. Come & indulge!

  • Philip Kashap, professional violinist, shares his other passion – cooking North Indian cuisine, and teaching others about its rich complexities. Join us for an enchanted evening, preparing several enticing dishes & then sitting down to enjoy them!

  • We will prepare a dinner menu representative of classic Southern U.S. cuisine – sure to get your tastebuds dancing & your toes tapping!

  • Three hearty & tantalizing casseroles (still no cans of mushroom soup here!) will be prepared – freezable & reheatable – ease up your supper routine! These will be different recipes than the previous class.
From Russia, With Love: Wednesday, March 18th - Register Online 
  • Don’t know your Nalisniki from your Piroshki? Come enjoy an evening preparing a menu of traditional Russian dishes, the foundations of which were derived from rural peasants surviving in a harsh climate.
Sultan’s Delight: Wednesday, March 25th - Register Online 
  • We will prepare an exotic meal featuring key ingredients from Turkey, including lamb, eggplant, yoghurt and traditional spices.
The Culinary Bounty of Northern Saskatchewan: Monday, March 30th - FULL / *Wait List*
  • Come celebrate the culinary bounty that exists in our province – we will prepare an exciting menu featuring ingredients of Northern Saskatchewan.

  • Whether you’ve been to the Greek Isles or not, we’ll all imagine being there as we sit down & enjoy this rich menu featuring classic Greek dishes – IOpa!

  • Do you love to fold, roll & stuff things, then eat them? This class is for you! The wrappers will include phyllo, puff pastry, bread dough & pasta, fillings will be both sweet & savoury!
